Yes, when designing the new village hall the trustees wanted to ensure that everyone was welcome and could access the facility comfortably. Therefore the design includes many important accessbility features.
For more information, please view the Inclusivity page.
There is a large, spacious and modern on-site carpark at the village hall on Lodge Street. It is very rarely full.
Therefore, please can we ask that you kindly advise your guests to park in the car park and not on the residential street. Thank you
If I have booked a hall, what happens on arrival?
One of our volunteer trustees will meet you at the hall at the beginning of your start time and will go through our Welcome notice with you. You will be asked to sign a copy of the notice.
As all our trustees are volunteers, it is important that you arrive on time at the beginning of your hire period. Thank you
Unfortunately, we are not able to manage customers’ waste and all rubbish must be taken away by the hirer. Thank you
Therefore please remember to bring bin liners with you, although there will be a few under the sink in the kitchen in case you don’t have enough.
For health and safety reasons, the external fire doors are only to be used in case of an emergency. There are safety tags fitted to the fire doors which will break immediately should you need to evacuate the building. The fire doors are not to be used in any other way. Again, the windows are only to be opened in case of emergency.
However there is air conditioning in the building so there should be no need to open windows or doors. Please ask in advance if you need any advice on using this. Thank you
Before you leave we ask that you tidy and clean the space in order to restore it to the condition it was in when you arrive. We ask that you remember to turn off any lights or the sound system if you have used it.
At the end of your hire period (or before, if you are ready to go), one of our trustees will usually come and have a look around the hall to ensure that it is clean and in its original condition.
Occasionally, there may not be a trustee available at that time, in which case you will be asked to make sure the main door to the village hall is closed behind you, and someone will check the hall
later in the day.
Once the hall has been checked and confirmed that all is ok, we can instruct for your deposit to be refunded.
Provided that the hall is clean and in its original condition with no damage, and that the hall is vacated at the end of the hire period, your deposit will be
returned to you.
Our treasurer or booking officer will be in touch to ask for details of your bank account to refund the deposit. This is usually within a few days of the booking.
Please view Latalia's Cafe page or contact them directly for more information.
