Power to Change On 21st November we heard that our application to the Lottery funded Power to Change was ACCEPTED. They have awarded us a grant of a mammoth £244,000. This is what we needed to meet the target £860,000 for a new building on Lodge Street which will include two halls for hire, dedicated space for the preschool and a fantastic café. We are preparing the final specifications ready to send out invitations to builders to tender for the work. We expect the construction to start early next year. See us celebrating in the picture top right.

Breaking Ground

One child (under 16) and one grown-up from Cullingworth will break the ground, triggering the construction of the new building. Their names will be displayed for posterity! To enter the draw buy a Big Breaking Ground Raffle ticket – only £1 each. Available from the Post Office and the Paper Shop.

Cullingworth Coop

Co-op Local Community Fund

A massive £1,246 was the total raised this year by Cullingworth Co-op. Lee, the local manager, presented the cheque to Jill Logan at the Christmassy Café at the end of November. We are extremely grateful for the continued support of local Co-op customers. See Picture above.

Cullingworth Coop

We are thrilled to hear that Cullingworth Village Hall will, once again, be supported by the Co-op through their Local  Community Fund.  Their commitment to us and other local charities in Cullingworth is much appreciated.  Keep shopping at the local Co-op folks!!

Shiply Area Committee

Many thanks indeed to the Shipley Area Committee for the £350 grant awarded from their Community Chest.  This will be used to help fund a new plumbed in water boiler to replace the leaking one in our catering kitchen.  This will be re-sited in the new village hall after construction.

Cullingworth Village Council

Cullingworth Village Council has awarded the Village Hall a £400 community grant. We are extremely grateful for this grant and the Village Council’s continued support for our project. The grant will be used to help offset the legal costs associated with the construction of the new building.

Garfield Western

We have applied to the Lottery funded Power to Change for a grant towards the new hall. If we are successful, this grant will fill our funding gap and allow us to start construction of the new village hall.

Cullingworth will have a fantastic village hall with dedicated space for a preschool and a fantastic café. Once operational our plans include many new activities for young people, families and the elderly. Fingers crossed everyone that our bid application is successful!
